My Journey with Sound design

When I switched my major from Sports Media to Television and Digital Media after my first year I knew that I wanted my concentration to be focused on audio production. Then, I was geared further towards music production but now I’m all in on sound design and audio editing (post production and mixing). After taking Professor’s Yepes Advanced Audio class and Professor Reed’s Music Production class I knew that I wanted to pursue it after college. 

Audio and visual media relationship: 

It’s easy to get carried away with sound design and editing. Sometimes I tend to forget that the best sound design and mixing is one where the audience doesn’t even acknowledge that they are listening to sound, but rather they are immersed in the visual experience. In most cases, sound design is a complement to the visual media of an animation, TV show, or film. It is not the star of the show, but is an equally important part of the finished product.
